Medora is a small cowboy town of on the western badlands of North Dakota and best known as the temporary home to Theodore Roosevelt prior to his climb to the US Presidency.  However, North Dakotans are effusively proud of their cowboy heritage and association with “Teddy,” that they formed a non-profit called the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation (TRMF) to preserve the roughly 100 full time resident population of Medora, operate the Cowboy Hall of Fame, and share their history with the 250,000+ visitors annually with a western musical, pitch fork steak fondue, and lots of other points of interest.  To that end, the TRMF calculated a golf course to be a wise investment, and commission our firm to build one in the Badlands outside of town and along the floodplain of the Little Missouri River, where General Custer and the 7th Cavalry rode on their way to their massacre at Little Bighorn.  The site had so much natural character that the cost to build the complete golf course was a fraction of other courses, and the result is a simply unforgettable golf experience that is as wild and wooly as the land it is built upon.
