The most challenging of all design commissions is the remodel. The result will be scrutinized against the original, new must blend seamlessly with old, there is not one but hundreds of "experts" (often with opposing opinions), et cetera. Success in this arena demands patience, compromise, strategy, discipline and an accessible firm with political acumen.
